Is dedicated to 200th anniversary of the start of the astronomical and geodetic works on objects geodesic arc Struve. Struve Geodetic Arc - triangulation measuring points were used to determine the parameters of the Earth, its shape and size, unique object UNESCO World Heritage Site - the first ever UNESCO Scientific memorial culture, passing through 10 European countries. He created this unique object eminent astronomer Friedrich Struve.
Obverse: above the small State Emblem of Ukraine, left semicircular inscription - UKRAINE, under which - the year of issue 2016, below face value 5 / logo and UAH Mint National Bank of Ukraine; the dark background there Geodetic theodolite, the right of which - schematic triangulation and names of countries through which the arc Struve: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, UKRAINE, MOLDOVA.
Reverse against the dark background portrait Struve, right from which semicircular inscriptions: Struve Geodetic Arc / 1816 - 1855 - the years during which the measurements were carried out; left of the portrait - a stylized composition: against Struve Arc geographical map and inscriptions FUHLENES, 2822 km (top) and old NEKRASIVKA (below).
