Dedicated to the Ukrainian historian, Slavic scholar, linguist, orientalist, writer, translator, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and one of the first academicians - Agatangel . Fluent in almost sixty languages, mostly Eastern, as well as knowing all the dialectal features of the Ukrainian language, he made a significant contribution to Ukrainian Oriental Studies and Ukrainian Studies. uniqueness as a phenomenon in world culture was marked by the decision of the UNESCO General Assembly to include this prominent figure in the list of the most prominent figures of mankind.
On the obverse of the coin there are: at the top - a small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the right of which the inscriptions: UKRAINE / 2 HRYVNI / 2021; a composition that symbolizes the activity of an orientalist and a source of knowledge - a geometric decoration of open books, consisting of a multi-rayed star, in the center of which A. words: I UNDERSTAND, / WHAT I HAVE TO BE / UKRAINOPHILIS - under the quote - facsimile A ; logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (bottom right).
On the reverse of the coin against the background of vertical lines that bring a certain drama and symbolize the tragic fate of the scientist, a portrait of Agatangel is depicted, under the portrait diagonally placed inscriptions: AGATANGEL (left), ; below the years of his life - 1871-1942.

his coin celebrates Medzhybizh Castle. Located in a picturesque part of Khmelnytskyi Oblast on a promontory that lies on the confluence of the Southern Bug and the Buzhok rivers, the castle is one of the oldest fortifications in Ukraine. The castle, which has changed owners and form over the centuries, is one of Ukraine’s most prominent landmarks.
Obverse: above is the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), below which is Ukraine’s small coat of arms; on both sides of the coat of arms are the numbers 20 and 18; in the center is the following composition: a shield depicting a tower, on both sides of which is a stylized map of the area with the legends р. Бог (the Boh River) (to the left) and р. Божок (the Bozhok River) (to the right) – the ancient names of the rivers; below the composition is a ribbon with the legend УКРАЇНСЬКИЙ ЩИТ ЄВРОПИ (the Ukrainian shield of Europe); beneath, against the background of merlons, is the coin face value 5/ГРИВЕНЬ (5/hryvnias); to the left, is the mint mark of the NBU Banknote Printing and Minting Works.
Reverse: there is depicted a bird’s-eye view of the mighty Medzhybizh Castle; above is the following legend: МЕДЖИБІЗЬКА ФОРТЕЦЯ ХІІ–ХVІ СТ (Medzhybizh Castle the 12th – the 16th centuries).
