National Bank of Ukraine, honoring the heroism of the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, issued a commemorative medal.
Recall that in 2016 declared the year of honoring liquidators of the Chernobyl accident and the memory of the victims of the Chernobyl disaster. The explosion and subsequent destruction of the fourth unit of Chernobyl, which occurred April 26, 1986.
The medal is made of nickel silver, the quality of coinage - "special uncirculated" weight - 16.5 grams, diameter - 35.0 mm, circulation - 20 000 pieces.
The obverse of the coin against the background of a stylized image shows the damaged valves Blessed Virgin, the left and right of which legends: Chernobyl tragedy / 1986/2016. At the bottom right there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the reverse of the medal are: the stylized composition - against the backdrop of the destroyed Chernobyl nuclear power plant group of liquidators; top semicircular inscription dedicated LIQUIDATORS feat.
On the creation of medals worked: the artists Alexander Kuzmin, Mary Skoblikova and sculptors Vladimir Atamanchuk, Svyatoslav Ivanenko.

coin commemorates volunteerism in Ukraine, which grew to unprecedented
proportions during the Revolution of Dignity and the start of the
military conflict in eastern Ukraine. Volunteerism united Ukrainian
society by successfully creating an efficient network of non-government

pressing issues. Volunteerism manifests a remarkable ability to unite,
social responsibility, humanism and service to people.
