The event is devoted, which is the confirmation of great historical justice, a guarantee of the spiritual freedom of our people. Tomos, the text of which was approved by the Bishops' Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, officially approves the canonical autocephalous status of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine as one of 15 local orthodox churches.
On the obverse of the coin in the middle of a stylized cross formed by an ornamental decorative frieze, on a mirror background there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine underneath which is the inscription UKRAINE; Imprints of the Seals of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (left) and Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphany (right), between which the denomination is 5, below the inscription - ГРИВЕНЬ, the year of issue of the coin -2019 and the logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the reverse of the coin, against the backdrop of the baths of St. Sophia Cathedral, a stylized fragment of Tomos is depicted; on the both sides of the central dome, the date given to Tomos is 06.01 and 2019; Circle inscription: TOMOS PROVIDING ABOUT AUTOCEPHALIA OF THE ORTHODOX CHURCH OF UKRAINE.
